Rajasthan’s freedom fighter Ramu Ji Saini had recently lost his left leg due to the negligence of doctors. After this, the government and administration did not take care of him for a month. However, on Wednesday, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot came to meet him at his residence.
Gehlot himself was ill recently due to coronavirus and swine flu. After recovering, he reached Ramu Ji’s residence in Mansarovar to take care of him. At present, Gehlot has assured the fighter and his family that the matter will be taken seriously.
Besides, the financial loss incurred during Ramu Ji’s treatment will also be compensated. 96-year-old Ramuji himself told Gehlot about his ordeal. He also informed them about the problems going on for the last one month.
Only The Daily Guardian took this matter seriously and cornered the government and administration. The effect was seen after this news. Representatives of the society were invited to grace the programs on Republic Day. But even officials aware of the circumstances are still far from coming to their senses.
Things got worse after a normal checkup
Last month, on January 9, Ramu Ji reached Metro Mass Hospital to get his long-standing leg pain examined, where he has been undergoing treatment for diabetes for many years.
After investigation, he was admitted and after the injection as per the advice of Dr. Raghav Johri, the lower part of his leg got damaged. When there was no relief, his treatment was restarted at Dhanvantari Hospital on 14 January with the advice of Dr RP Saini, an expert on Ramu Ji and the founder of Dhanvantari Hospital.
But within a week in Dhanvantari, Dr. S. Kalra operated on him twice without thinking. The problem in the lower part of the opposite leg reached the upper part of the leg when after the surgery on January 14, the doctor did not turn him till January 20 and on the 21st, the entire leg got damaged during the surgery. After this, his successful operation was done by Dr Rakesh Chittaura at Fortis Hospital.
However, due to doctors’ neglect and lack of proper treatment, the problem gradually destroyed his entire leg. Talks were also held with doctors of all three hospitals. Dr Rakesh Chittaura of Fortis had said that due to increasing infection, operations had to be done immediately, otherwise there could be a risk to life and property.
At the same time, Dr. Raghav Johri at Metro Hospital did not answer clearly. But, the statement of Dr. Kalra, while talking about the operation was, “I am not Dr. Kalra at all. I don’t know what’s the matter. But when he was asked emphatically why freedom fighter Ramu Ji Saini was operated on twice. So he told me that I did not do the operation. He alleged that I was present only in the operation theatre. The operation has been done by Dr RP Saini, head of Dhanvantari.”
