Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby made a recent appearance on Gordon Ramsay's YouTube show Scrambled, where they prepared a rich British classic sausage and mash. The two, who are promoting their new movie Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, brought humor and charm to the kitchen.
From the beginning, Gordon Ramsay switched on his trademark ferocity. "The key to decent sausage and mash?" he asked Pascal. Surprised, Pascal replied, "Are you going to test me?" Ramsay assured him, and Pascal sidestepped with a mischievous "Don't." The exchange elicited chuckles from Ramsay.
To prevent them from crying, Ramsay had peeled the onions beforehand, explaining, "So, there's no acid there. You will not be crying. I promise you." Pascal, however, who was shy with kitchen equipment, confessed, "I f****** hate knives," and hastily apologised for using bad language.

As Kirby worked on the sausages, frying them in thyme for flavor, Pascal worked on the onions. He salted, peppered, sugared, and buttered them liberally for caramelization. His dramatic way of sprinkling salt was noticed 'very Salt Bae', viewers might concur.
Kirby shared a little-known secret she used to be a baker. "It began in my basement," she said, describing it as a soothing, 'meditative' activity.
While the sausages crackled and the onions caramelised, wine and brandy splash were added by Ramsay. The topic turned to co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, whom both actors tell is the resident chef on set. "Epic" meals and "morning coffee" were among his contributions.
When the onions and thyme became golden, veggie stock was added. Ramsay instructed Kirby to prick the sausages with a fork so that the butter could soak in.
Although Kirby was tasked with the mashed potatoes, Pascal interfered. As he mashed the mash with cream and butter, Kirby joked, "This is the first time he's ever cooked in his life."
The tone continued light and intimate as Kirby, who is pregnant with her first child, shared about her relationship with Premier Lacrosse League president Paul Rabil. In response to being asked about baby names by Ramsay, she responded, "You simply can't." Ramsay concurred, noting, "There are a few names that can be pre-decided, but it is impossible to name it without seeing this beautiful person."
After all the ingredients were put together, the sausages, mashed potatoes, onion gravy, and a sprinkle of fried onions on top, the ultimate taste test was reserved for Ramsay's wife, Tana Ramsay. Upon tasting both versions of the dish, she declared it a tie.
Fantastic Four: First Steps, featuring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby, opens in theatres on July 25.
