For the first time in Derabassi, the Akhand Jyoti, a sacred flame from the Shri Ram Tirtha Sthal in Amritsar, was brought to the town in honor of Trikaldarshi Prabhu Valmiki, the revered author of the Shri Ramayana. The event was organized by the Shri Ramlila Committee 812 Derabassi under the leadership of Pradhan Ravinder Vaishnav. A grand procession was taken out from the ancient Shri Hanuman temple, with the flame being carried through the streets of Derabassi, drawing the participation of a large crowd.
The procession circled the city, covering Shri Ram Talai, Gulabgarh Road, Bazaar, and Tehsil Road, accompanied by traditional band music and drums. During the journey on Gulabgarh Road, a flag ceremony marking the Ramlila performance was also conducted. The procession concluded with the installation of the Akhand Jyoti in the local Valmiki temple, where a significant gathering from the Valmiki community joined in the worship and festivities.
The event not only celebrated the spiritual significance of the Akhand Jyoti but also brought together people from the community in a shared expression of faith and devotion. Following the procession, an unbroken bhandaara (community feast) was organized at the temple premises, further adding to the sense of unity and celebration in Derabassi.
