The longest train journeys, which are literally the longest with journeys lasting three days, are one such unique experience. Take a look att five of the longest train journeys in the country. 

Dibrugarh Kanyakumari Vivek Express 

The Vivek Express from Dibrugarh (Assam) to Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) is the Indian Railways’ longest route in terms of both distance and time. This weekly train is currently the longest train route in the Indian Subcontinent. It covers a total distance of 4,154 kilometres with a running time of 74 hours and 15 minutes. 

Thiruvananthapuram – Silchar Superfast Express 

Plying between Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s capital, and Silchar, the capital of Assam’s eastern state, The train covers a distance of 3,932 km (2,443 mi), with a total travel time of 74 hours and 45 minutes, travelling at a speed of 52.60 km/hr. 

Himsagar Express 

The train journey begins in the Himalayas and ends in the Sagar, or Indian Ocean, as the name implies. If the Kashmir Tu Mai Kanyakumari song were a train, it would most likely be the Himsagar Express. Starting from Katra in Jammu and Kashmir and terminating in Kanyakumari, the train travels across 12 states in 73 hours and 5 minutes. 

Navyug Express 

The train name implies modern time . Nowadays, in modern times, it is easy to commute from faraway places. The train travels 3690 kilometres from Mangalore Central in Kerela to Jammu. You have to stay on the train for 72 hours and 15 minutes to complete the challenge. 

Ten Jammu Express 

This train runs between Tirunelveli, deep south in Tamil Nadu, and goes right up to Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, covering a distance of some 3,642 kilometres, having a running time of about 69 hours.
