Several senior IAS and IPS officials and cabinet ministers had been at loggerheads over several issues. Recently, IAS officer Sanjeev Verma has recommended to file an FIR against fellow colleague Ashok Khemka for allegedly making appointments in Haryana State Warehouse Corporation in illegal manner during his tenure as MD from July 2008 to April 2010.

Khemka, accompanied by Haryana home minister Anil Vij, had visited Panchkula police station to file a cross FIR against Verma.

Earlier, IAS officer Rani Nagar had accused former IAS Additional Chief Secretary Sunil Gulati of harassment. Gulati has outrightly rejected the charges, saying that the woman was not stable psychologically and was complaining because she had intentionally disobeyed his orders about attending meetings.

Similarly, senior IPS and IG Y Puran Kumar had filed a complaint against then DGP Manoj Yadava accusing him of discrimination saying that Yadava had been targeting him since July 2020 in a vindictive manner for personal reasons ever since he got the coveted Ambala posting in 2020 which Yadav wanted for one of his proteges. Puran Kumar had filed a writ in High Court.

Home Minister Vij, who holds the portfolio of five other departments and is outspoken, continued to leave his party and the government red-faced with his words and actions. Vij used to be critical about the working of senior IAS and IPS officials, including former DGP Manoj Yadava, Navdeep Singh Virk, and former CID chief Anil Rao.

The Home Minister has issued several instructions saying that disobeying the orders of legislators, who are public representatives, would not be tolerated.
