Iron Dome and it effectiveness

Developed by Israeli firms Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries, with support from the United States, it represents a sophisticated air defense system specifically designed to intercept and destroy rockets and mortars fired from Gaza and neighboring regions towards populated areas in Israel. Operational since 2011, the Iron Dome has become synonymous with Israel’s ability to defend its citizens from constant threats.

Using advanced radar technology, the Iron Dome detects incoming projectiles and launches interceptor missiles to neutralize them in mid-air, preventing them from reaching their intended targets. This system’s ability to differentiate between rockets likely to hit built-up areas and those that pose less danger helps conserve interceptor missiles for critical threats, ensuring a more efficient defense mechanism.

Arrow System

Arrow missile defense system, which is made specifically to intercept and eliminate ballistic missiles outside of Earth’s atmosphere is a very critical component of  Israel’s defense strategy. This system consists of two main parts called Arrow-2 and Arrow-3,  designed to address threats posed by long-range missiles, particularly those coming from nations such as Iran.

The Arrow-2 interceptor is engineered to engage ballistic missiles at high altitudes, well above the Earth’s atmosphere. It employs a detachable warhead that collides with the incoming threat, ensuring that any non-conventional warheads are safely neutralized away from populated areas. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) plays a central role as the main contractor responsible for the development and deployment of the Arrow system.
