Ukraine Resumes E-Visa Service for 45 Countries, Including India

Ukraine has again opened e-visas for 45 nations, such as India, Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal, from February 19, 2025. The e-visas can be utilized for more than one reason like tourism, business, study, sports, cultural visits, scientific research work, journalism, and medical visits.

The Ukrainian embassy informed that the e-visas are of two types: a single-entry visa for USD 20 and a double-entry visa for USD 30. There is an extra charge for urgent processing, which is twice the normal fee. The processing period normally takes three working days, but urgent applications are completed within one day.

This decision to resume e-visa services is part of Ukraine’s efforts to deepen relations with priority countries, including India. India and Ukraine have developed stronger bilateral relations in the past years in trade, agriculture, pharma, defense, education, and culture.

Cultural exchange between the two nations is made possible by institutions like the Taras Shevchenko National University and Kyiv Linguistic University, which offer Hindi as a language. Moreover, there are institutions such as the Ukrainian Association of Ayurveda and Yoga in Ukraine, which advance traditional Indian medicine and Yoga through international congresses.

As a testament to unity, a Mahatma Gandhi statue was unveiled in Kyiv in October 2020 to commemorate his 150th birthday. The statue, installed in the “Oasis of Peace” botanical garden, symbolizes Gandhi’s philosophy of peace and ahimsa.
