A teacher in the Sanghar district of Sindh province has recently been suspended after being caught on camera accepting bribes from students during a Grade 9 examination.
According to a viral video, the teacher was found taking bribes from students, leading to his suspension
Later, it was discovered that each student paid PKR 500 to the teacher in exchange for passing the exam.
However, The Sindh Education and Literacy Department, immediately took note of the incident and started the probe.
This incident comes around the time, when already series of malpractices are affecting the examination process.
To address this menace, the Department of Sindh Boards and Universities issued a series of instructions to the Chairman of Karachi’s education board.
Meanwhile, this particular incident highlights the declining state of Pakistan’s education sector, which has been grappling with significant setbacks for the past year. This situation leaves children without adequate education and exacerbates the issue of vacant teaching positions.
As reported by The Express Tribune, the problem of vacant teaching positions in government schools continues to disrupt academic activities. There are currently 120,000 vacant posts that remain unfilled due to the lack of a recruitment drive.
