Study in UAE envisions women’s role in shaping AI’s future

TRENDS Research and Advisory has published a new study in English titled “Pioneering Future: The Integral Role of Women in Shaping AI.”

The study, led by Noor Al Mazrouei, Head of AI and Future Studies Department at Trends, highlights the significant contributions of women to AI. It examines the profiles of female leaders in cutting-edge AI research, such as Fei-Fei Li, professor of computer science at Stanford University and founder of the Stanford AI Lab, and Andrea Gallego, professor of robotics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

These pioneers are dedicated to developing more inclusive and ethical AI systems, focusing on areas like healthcare and education to address real-world challenges. The study provides concrete examples of women’s contributions to AI applications, such as personalized learning tools, which cater to individual student needs and help bridge educational gaps, ensuring high-quality education for all.

Despite women representing only 22 percent of global AI professionals, the study emphasizes their active leadership in the field. It highlights revolutionary projects led by women, such as Brain 2030, aimed at simulating the human brain, showcasing their ability to drive significant advancements in AI.

The study concludes by emphasizing that women in AI are not just engaging in technical expertise but are also catalysts for groundbreaking progress, ensuring an inclusive and revolutionary future for AI.
