A drone strike by Russian forces on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro late Wednesday resulted in the deaths of three people, according to local officials.
Dnipropetrovsk region Governor Sergiy Lysak called the attack a ‘large-scale’ one. “Thirty were hurt, five of them children,” he stated on Telegram. A child and an elderly woman were among the dead, he added. He further reported that 16 remained hospitalized, with one in critical condition.
The attack destroyed some dozen residential buildings, Lysak confirmed.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said that the drone attacks caused a number of fires in Dnipro, all of which were extinguished.
Meanwhile, in a related move, Russia’s military said on Thursday it had over the night intercepted and shot down 71 Ukrainian drones, including 49 over the Kursk region.
