Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting France to attend the AI summit, had a brief meeting with US Vice President JD Vance at a state dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.

The meeting between PM Modi and JD Vance is a cordial and celebratory affair. The Indian Prime Minister is seen congratulating Vance following his electoral victory and can be seen shaking hands, saying, “Congratulations. Great, great victory.”

The PMO also posted pictures of the moment, which includes a positive exchange between the two leaders, stating, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with French President Emmanuel Macron and US Vice President JD Vance.”

Schedule of PM Modi during the AI Summit

The AI Action Summit in France is another important engagement PM Modi will participate in. This summit India will co-chair with France. During the visit to France, PM Modi and President Macron will also travel to the historic city of Marseille to dedicate a new Indian Consulate there. Both leaders will visit the ITER project, an international venture in which India is a key partner for future energy for mankind.

In addition, PM Modi will pay homage to Indian martyrs at the Mazargues War Cemetery, who laid down their lives during World Wars I and II.

Modi’s Visit to America

After a month in France, PM Modi will go to the United States on President Donald Trump’s invitation for a two-day visit. This will be the first encounter between the two leaders since President Donald Trump’s reelection in January. PM Modi called the visit enthusiastic as he said on his official X handle, “In Washington DC, I look forward to meeting POTUS Donald Trump.” This visit will further cement India-USA friendship and boost ties in diverse sectors.”

PM Modi’s visit to the US follows his previous trip in June 2017 and a state visit hosted by President Trump in February 2020. Modi’s remarks indicate his anticipation for productive talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between India and the United States.

As PM Modi continues his diplomatic engagements, both in France and the US, he explicitly underlines the growing influence of India in the global discussion on AI and international relations.
