In a powerful speech delivered in Jerusalem on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, emphasizing that any future agreement with Tehran must also address its ballistic missile capabilities.
Speaking at a ceremony marking Holocaust Remembrance Day at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial on April 24, 2025, Netanyahu made it clear that Israel sees Iran’s nuclear ambitions as a direct threat to regional and global security.
“You have to dismantle their nuclear infrastructure and that means … they will not have the capacity to enrich uranium,” Netanyahu stated, stressing the need for a comprehensive approach.
He further added that any effective deal must also include strict measures to prevent Iran from developing and expanding ballistic missile technologies.
The Bigger Picture
Netanyahu’s call comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, as well as renewed international efforts to revisit or renegotiate nuclear agreements with Tehran.
Israel has consistently warned that Iran’s nuclear program, combined with its missile development, poses an existential threat to the Jewish state.
Netanyahu’s strong stance is expected to influence ongoing diplomatic conversations, especially among Western allies trying to find a balanced solution to the growing crisis.
As diplomatic talks unfold, Netanyahu’s remarks underline Israel’s firm position: no enrichment, no missiles, no nuclear Iran.
