Nepal’s Kami Rita Sherpa breaks his own record by climbing the world’s highest peak, Mt Everest for the 29th time. He is also known as ‘Everest Man’ among the locals.
Kami is 54 years old Nepali Sherpa climber and a guide, last spring season he already completed the climb of 8848.86 meters that is, The Mt Everest twice within a week, setting the record of 28th summit. Again, for this time the climber has hinted on climbing the peak twice.
Before the climb, he mentioned, ‘has no plan of climbing Sagarmatha (Nepalese name of Mt Everest) for any specific number of time’.
As per the officials of the Department of Tourism, Kami reached the peak of Everest at 7:25 AM IST on Sunday, May 12, while guiding an expedition organized by the ‘Seven Summit Treks’.

Sherpa began his expedition from Kathmandu along with a mountaineering expedition team consisting 28 other climbers. He has been climbing the peak along with other climbers as a guide.
Kami is the record-setter climber for the highest number of ascents on the world’s highest peak in the 71-year-old history of Sagarmatha climbing.
