Indian Women in UK Gather in Traditional Attire, Rally in Support of PM Modi’s Victory in LS Polls

Indian women in UK came together in traditional attire in front of the UK Parliament, demonstrating their cultural pride and showing political support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the general elections. Representing diverse diasporas from regions such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, and Odisha, these women celebrated India’s democratic process in their unique ways.

Chants of “Ab ki baar 400 paar” and “Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi” resonated through Parliament Square as the passionate women proudly waved BJP flags. Their enthusiastic support reflected their pride in India’s progress under PM Modi’s leadership.

The Overseas Friends of BJP UK (OFBJPUK) released a statement emphasizing PM Modi’s elevation of India’s global profile, instilling a deep sense of pride in the Indian identity. The participating women delivered passionate speeches in their regional languages, urging fellow Indians to support the BJP in the 2024 elections, believing in the power of their voices to shape India’s future.

A highlight of the event was a heartfelt poem recited by a woman from PM Modi’s constituency, Varanasi, titled “Saudhand Mujhe Iss Mitti Ki.” Additionally, a Tamil woman spoke about PM Modi’s historic visit to Jaffna, the first by an Indian Prime Minister, and discussed the Neighbourhood First policy, which has aided Sri Lanka in overcoming economic challenges.

Emphasizing PM Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, the Indian women in UK highlighted women’s empowerment as a crucial aspect of this vision. Their gathering showcased solidarity and commitment to supporting India’s progress from afar.
