An Indian student named Chirag Antil (24) was shot dead and found in his car in South Vancouver, Canada according to local police.
As per an official statement from the Vancouver Police Department, authorities were alerted following reports of gunshots by residents near East 55th Avenue and Main Street.
Reaching the spot, the police found Antil dead inside his car. “No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing,” the police stated.
Media reports indicate that according to Chirag’s brother Ronit, Chirag appeared content when they spoke on the phone in the morning. Subsequently, Chirag left in his Audi for an unknown destination, where he was later fatally shot.
As per local media reports, Antil’s family is utilizing the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe to gather funds for repatriating his body to India. Chirag Antil relocated to Vancouver in September 2022 upon completing his MBA at the University Canada West and had recently obtained his work permit.
