His journey from humble beginnings to cinematic legend has inspired millions of fans across India and the world. Today, Rajinikanth is celebrated not just as an actor but as a cultural icon whose influence transcends cinema.
Rajinikanth had announced in December 2017 that he would enter politics and launched his party, the Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM). However, by December 2020, he decided not to enter electoral politics, citing health concerns and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In July 2021, he formally dissolved the RMM and stated that he had no intention of returning to politics in the future. Rajinikanth emphasized that he would continue to serve the people of Tamil Nadu through social and public initiatives, but not as an elected official, choosing to focus on cinema and public service rather than the pressures of political life.
