Indian cricket player Yuzvendra Chahal has spoken out against his ex-wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who accused him of cheating. The leg-spinner addressed a viral clip from her reality show, calling the claims false and logically inconsistent with the duration of their marriage.
The allegations surfaced from a clip of Dhanashree Verma's current OTT reality show, which went viral recently. In the clip, she hinted that Chahal had been unfaithful to her just two months into their marriage. The cricket player responded after the public innuendo generated a lot of conjecture and conversation on social media, reviving their previous relationship.
Chahal responded with a firm and logical rebuttal. He stated plainly, "I am a sportsperson, and I do not cheat." He then questioned the basis of the allegation by pointing to the length of their relationship. “If someone cheats in just two months, would the relationship even last four and a half years?" This was his primary argument against the claim, suggesting that such an early breach of trust would not have sustained a long-term marriage.

Chahal was clear that this chapter of his life is firmly in the past. The couple, who married in December 2020 after connecting during the COVID-19 lockdown, filed for divorce jointly in early 2025. Court documents revealed they had been living separately since 2022. Chahal expressed that he has moved on and urged others to do the same, noting that some people "continue to use my name for attention." He confirmed this would be his final statement on the matter.
When asked about his personal life, Chahal smiled and confirmed, “I am single and not looking to mingle right now.” He revealed a deep love for online gaming when he turned his attention to his career pursuits outside of cricket. He revealed specific plans to enter the e-gaming market shortly, indicating that the athlete will soon launch a new firm.
Despite a stellar IPL 2025 season where he took 16 wickets for Punjab Kings, Chahal was not selected for the Indian T20I squad for the Asia Cup 2025. With the T20 World Cup 2026 approaching, his return to the national team seems unlikely. His last T20I appearance was in August 2023, though he was part of the 2024 T20 World Cup winning squad. He remains the IPL's all-time leading wicket-taker with 221 wickets.
