“This is a pandemic baby and it was born because I had so much cooking energy that I needed to share, and so much food that I wanted to feed people with. So, it was kind of a natural progression,” shares Hoon candidly, further adding, “I can’t believe it’s been a year already—an entire year of diverse menus. I have to say, it was not easy – from sorting out the logistics of ordering to working on providing the best customer service, this business has really taught me and my team to become self-reliant. Above all, I’m extremely grateful—it has been a whole year of cooking the kind of food I enjoy eating and feeding!”

To mark the first anniversary, ‘The Ruchira Kitchen’, will be serving an 8-course menu exclusively on Sunday, 1 August. The courses begin with Cucumber Thokku, made with cucumber, coconut and a generous amount of mustard seeds and curry leaves. This is followed by Raw Mango Rasam to tickle your sweet and sour taste buds, Tomato Pappu, which is a special Andhra style Daal, accompanied by steamed rice and crispy Vadams. A Potato Roast, the smokey spicy flavour of which pairs well with the Rasam and Daal and the

The finely diced carrots, the begging to be wiped clean mushroomy, creamy juices, the tiny buns to help you do just that, the salad which was equal parts syrupy and crunchy and as good as anything on the table, if not better.”
