Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary initiative, NAMO Drone Didi, announced on November 30 last year during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, represents a groundbreaking effort to harness technological innovation for the empowerment of women in agriculture.
Central to empowering women in the agriculture sector is the deployment of drones and the creation of ‘drone didis’ from women SHGs under the Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Kendras initiative. Through the ‘Drone Ki Udaan’ program, these SHGs will receive comprehensive training on drone operation and maintenance, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to effectively utilize this transformative technology.

At its core, NAMO Drone Didi aims to provide drones to 15,000 women Self Help Groups (SHGs), enabling them to rent these drones to farmers for various agricultural purposes.
