UGC NET Exam Date 2024 Released: Check Subject Wise Re-Exam Schedule

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled the subject-wise schedule for the re-examination of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for June 2024. This crucial examination, essential for candidates seeking Junior Research Fellowships, Assistant Professor positions, or admission to PhD programs, will be held in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from August 21, 2024, to September 4, 2024.

As an autonomous body under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, NTA will oversee the UGC NET across 83 subjects. The newly released schedule includes specific dates and timings for each subject, allowing candidates to organize their preparation effectively.

Candidates can view their examination city notification on the NTA website here approximately ten days prior to their exam date. Additionally, admit cards will be available for download shortly before the examination.

Key Dates and Subjects for UGC NET June 2024 Re-Exams:

  • August 21, 2024: English, Japanese, Performing Arts (Dance/Drama/Theatre), Electronic Science (Shift I); English, Dogri, Spanish, Russian, Persian, Comparative Study of Religions, Hindu Studies (Shift II)
  • August 22, 2024: Social Work, Home Science, Music, French, Adult Education/Continuing Education/Andragogy/Non-Formal Education, Indian Culture, Buddhist/Jaina/Gandhian and Peace Studies, Archaeology (Shift I); Public Administration, Education (Shift II)
  • August 23, 2024: Computer Science and Applications (Shift I); Bengali, Chinese, Rajasthani, Arab Culture and Islamic Studies, Kashmiri, Sociology (Shift II)
  • August 26, 2024: Philosophy, Hindi, Nepali, Manipuri, Assamese, Santali (Shift I); Hindi, Oriya (Shift II)
  • August 28, 2024: Museology & Conservation, Economics/Rural Economics/Co-operation/Demography/Development Planning/Development Studies/Econometrics/Applied Economics/Development Economics/Business Economics (Shift I); Punjabi, Tamil, Geography (Shift II)
  • August 29, 2024: Maithili, Arabic, Gujarati, German, Pali, Prakrit, Bodo, Sindhi, History (Shift I); Marathi, Kannada, History (Shift II)
  • August 30, 2024: Anthropology, Psychology, Defence and Strategic Studies, Population Studies, Linguistics, Visual Art (Drawing & Painting/Sculpture Graphics/Applied Art/History of Art), Social Medicine & Community Health, Forensic Science, Tourism Administration and Management (Shift I); Law, Sanskrit (Shift II)
