CBSE Result 2025: How to Download Class 10, 12 Marksheets from DigiLocker

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the results of Class 10 and Class 12 for 2025 today, and students can check their results on digilocker too. Although the official date and time have not been announced yet, in keeping with previous trends, CBSE usually declares results in mid-May. The board examinations this year, held between February 15 and April 4, witnessed an entry of over 42 lakh students, amongst the most in recent history.

After the results are declared, students can access their marksheets on the official websites: cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in. CBSE has advised students to avoid unverified information and follow official updates for accurate information.

Accessing Results: From SMS to DigiLocker

CBSE has provided the facility of result-checking through several platforms to cater to the convenience of students everywhere in India. Besides the official websites, the students can also obtain the results through SMS.

To achieve this, students should enter the following format in the message box:

CBSE 10 or CBSE 12

Example: CBSE10 0153749 12345 4569

Send the SMS to 7738299899. After sending the message, the student will get their result immediately through SMS.

Additionally, CBSE has integrated its systems with DigiLocker. Students can visit cbse.digitallocker.gov.in, click on the “Digital Documents” tab, and enter their roll number and credentials to access their digital marksheet. Registration on DigiLocker is necessary before result access.

CBSE Introduces Relative Grading System

One of the major features of this year is the move to a Relative Grading system, implemented to cut down on unhealthy academic competition. Breaking away from the conventional fixed score-based grading (e.g., 91–100 for A1), CBSE now assesses students based on how their performance stands against others.

This grading reform means that grades will no longer be attached to absolute marks, but to the spread of scores between passing students in each subject. This dynamic model will promote learning and reduce stress, particularly in highly competitive settings.

Looking Back at 2024: A Benchmark Year

In 2024, CBSE saw remarkable results. For Class 10, 93.60% of the students passed, with 20,95,467 out of 22,38,827 students clearing the exams. Class 12 had a pass percentage of 87.98%, with 14,26,420 students passing out of the 16,21,224 who appeared.

Awaiting the Next Step

As educators, parents, and students wait for the results of 2025, they must go in with balanced expectations. CBSE’s new policy of grading reflects a forward-looking change in education evaluation, trying to ensure greater fairness and curbing exam-related anxiety.
