Online registrations for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024, the entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other B-schools, will conclude today, September 13. Applicants who haven’t applied yet can submit their forms by 5 PM on iimcat.ac.in.
This year, IIM Calcutta is conducting the exam, which is scheduled for November 24. Admit cards will be available from November 5, and results will be announced in the second week of January.
Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, with a reduced criterion of 45% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Final-year students and those awaiting their results can apply provisionally.
The CAT 2024 application fee is ₹1,250 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, and ₹2,500 for others.
The test comprises three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The exam duration is 120 minutes, with 40 minutes allocated to each section, and no switching between sections is allowed.
CAT serves as the gateway for admission to postgraduate and doctoral business courses offered by IIMs and other institutes. For more information, visit the official website.
