In the fabricated refund scam investigation involving the Haryana Urban Development Authority, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at multiple locations, including Haryana.
The ED team initiated a search at the residence of a property dealer situated in Suncity Parikrama Society in Panchkula Sector-20. Commencing the raid at 8 am, the ED also targeted two locations in Chakula. Specifically, the ED’s attention focused on real estate agent Arun Singla’s residence and another property dealer’s home in Suncity Parikrama Society, Sector 20.
This operation is part of an extensive probe into corruption allegations linked to the Haryana Urban Development Authority. The ED’s actions extend across various places in Haryana, encompassing Panchkula, Chandigarh, and Mohali, targeting corruption within the Haryana Urban Development Authority department.
The investigation pertains to a case involving the illicit acquisition of fake refunds amounting to crores of rupees between 2015 and 2019. Numerous real estate companies and officials in Haryana are under scrutiny in connection with the fraudulent activities. The ED’s efforts are ongoing, targeting both private individuals, including government and retired officials.
In total, the ED team has executed raids at approximately 18 locations nationwide, spanning Haryana and Chandigarh.
Throughout these operations, the ED is diligently examining crucial documents. The stringent security measures have been implemented to ensure the efficacy of the raids. The entire episode revolves around irregularities discovered in the procurement of construction materials within the Haryana Urban Development Authority, specifically in Gurugram and Faridabad, leading to a significant financial scandal.
