Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducts searches at multiple locations in Delhi in an alleged National Herald Money laundering case on Tuesday. Days after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was questioned this raid has been conducted at least 14 locations. This includes the publishing unit of Herald House in Delhi
Moreover, on July 27, Sonia Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate office in the national capital for the third round of questioning. On July 21, Sonia Gandhi was called for the first round of questioning.
Earlier on July 19, Sonia Gandhi reached the ED office for the second round of questioning. In which ED questioned Sonia Gandhi for over six hours.
Sonia Gandhi’s questioning triggered huge protests last week in several parts of the country. Congress leaders and workers alleged misuse of the central probe agencies by the government.
During this protest, several senior leaders of Congress including Rahul Gandhi were detained. Addressing the media person Rahul Gandhi said, “I am not going anywhere. We wanted to go towards the President’s house. But the police are not allowing us.”
Notably, on June 1, the ED summoned Sonia Gandhi to appear on June 8 for the first time in a money laundering case involving the National Herald but due to COVID-19, she didn’t appear. In June 2022, the ED also questioned Rahul Gandhi.
