Dyson had reformed the way we clean our homes. There has been a shift from the traditional way of cleaning and adapting vacuum cleaners as a form of cleaning homes and specially dust. Adding to its kitty is the Dyson 12 Detect Slim. This time around Dyson has up the ante a bit. You get a laser enabled vacuum cleaner. The tech in this vacuum cleaner is so interesting and we need to give full marks for the design & engineering. Well, what is so cool about this device let’s find out.
DESIGN:
One issue which was pointed out by a lot of users was the weight of V11 Absolute Pro. This time around Dyson has worked well in fixing that problem by making V12 slimmer and lighter than before. They have tried to keep the whole weight under 2.5 kg making it easy to mauver and light on hand.
One add on which has been a personal favorite is the one – touch button. I have used the V11 a lot during the lockdown and the trigger was a bit of a pain to use for a long span. The design consistencies remain with an attractive LCD display which gives you information about piezo- eclectic sensor, charging and battery update.
The cleaning process of the bin is more or less the same. You now get a notification to empty it and have marker to let you know when it is time to clear it. A great quality of the cleaner is having 5-layer filtration system.
What adds character to the design are the attachments and they are so many. It makes the cleaning process so simple as you can use each for a different space and fabric.
PERFROMACE:
Dyson V12 Slim has three power modes. Eco, Auto/Med, and Boost. You get Hyperdymium motor on the V12 Detect Slim and has 11 Root Cyclone chambers.
You get maximum power in the Boost mode but also get least battery. It can be good for cleaning your sofa & carpet. The one which would be most used and useful is the Auto mode as it helps clean all dust and is good on the battery as well. Eco can used for lighter cleaning not for major dusty areas.
Well, the highlight of this device is the laser light. You might not find it very useful if you have light coming in but as your draw your curtains and start cleaning you can notice the dust and it shines all the way under the green laser light. It can be well detected and cleaned like never before.
What piezo sensor does is that it detects and quantifies the dust particles you can pick. It helps in analyzing if your items are dirtier than usual.
BATTERY:
Batter is the most important part of this device, and it takes around 3-4 hours for a full charge. You can know your battery stats by pressing the button the LCD display. For longer use you need to use it under Eco mode the least time you will get in boost and Auto mode has a balanced battery distribution.
VERDICT:
Dyson V12 Detect Slim is a very good cleaning device. We can’t debate about its performance, built quality, design or usability. It is way lighter than before. One thing which I would want better is the battery would want the boost mode to go for 30-45 mins in a single run. Other than that, the price Rs 55,900 is steep for a lot of people. But then you are getting a product which is way above the rest in terms of quality, design, and usability. For me it’s a thumbup with the new inbuilt laser.
