Dr Hibbert from ‘The Simpsons’ will no longer be voiced by Harry Shearer

Washington [US], February 23 (ANI): After more than 30 years of playing Dr Julius Hibbert on ‘The Simpsons’, Harry Shearer, who portrayed the Black character since 1990, will be replaced by voice actor Kevin Michael Richardson.
According to Variety, for the Sunday episode of ‘The Simpsons’, titled ‘DiaryQueen’, Shearer voiced Dr Hibbert for the final time. Next week’s episode titled ‘Wad Goals’ will feature Richardson taking over the role.
Since the show’s debut in 1989, Shearer has voiced Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, Mr Smithers, Principal Skinner, and more on the show. Richardson, himself also has worked on ‘The Simpsons’ since 2009, providing the voices for many characters. He has also worked on animated shows like ‘Family Guy’, ‘The Cleveland Show’, ‘American Dad’ and many others.
As per Variety, this recasting comes after the show’s producers back in June 2020 said that white actors will no longer play non-white characters.
Before this, Hank Azaria voiced the Indian character Apu Nahasapeemapetilon for years, drawing backlash among fans and the South Asian community. Azaria stepped down from the role in January 2020, and he was also replaced by Black voice actor Alex Desert as Carl Carlson in a fall 2020 episode. (ANI)

Currently, ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ is scheduled to release in theatres on November 19. Cruise also has another film awaiting to open in theatres by Paramount Pictures, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, scheduled for July 2.
Blunt’s ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ is slated to hit the big screens on September 17. The sequel, written and directed by John Krasinski, was originally intended for release in March 2020 before the COVID pandemic forced several films to push back their release dates.

While Cruise’s and Blunt’s films will be heading to Paramount+ after first opening in movie theatres, other films such as ‘Paranormal Activity’, ‘The In Between’ and ‘Pet Sematary’ will be heading straight to the streaming platform.
Daniel Craig’s ‘No Time to Die’ is also expected to be available on Paramount+ after making a theatrical debut.
The announcement regarding the movies making their way to the streamer was made during ViacomCBS’ investor day on Wednesday. The upcoming streaming service Paramount+ will launch on March 4, this year. The platform, a rebrand, and expansion of CBS All Access will have to compete with a glut of streaming service offerings, including Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney Plus, and Apple TV Plus.
On Monday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo gave the green light for movie theatres to open at a reduced capacity — 25 per cent or 50 people per auditorium– almost a year after the pandemic forced them to close their doors. (ANI)

Washington [US], February 25 (ANI): Actor Tom Holland has finally revealed the real title of the third installment in the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise after the star cast of the film trolled fans with their own version of fake titles.
The real title for the latest installment in the superhero franchise is ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.
Holland took to his Instagram account on Wednesday night to reveal the title of the film. Holland and his co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon appear in a 30-second clip, which begins with Holland walking out of director Jon Watts’ office and lamenting over being given a fake title for the film.
Holland says in the video, “He gave us a fake name again … I just don’t understand why he keeps doing this.”
“You don’t understand? I feel like it’s pretty obvious. You spoil things,” Batalon responds, teasing the star’s reputation for sharing details of the superhero films before they are public knowledge.
“I don’t spoil things. Name me one thing I’ve actually spoiled,” Holland shoots back, as Zendaya chimes in, “The last movie title.”
The camera then zooms in on a whiteboard displaying a number of potential titles, with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ featured at the centre.
The upcoming film is slated to release on December 17, this year. On Tuesday, Holland, Zendaya, and Batalon had posted never-before-seen stills from the upcoming movie – and announced three different titles.

Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have written the script for the forthcoming Marvel film.
Filmmaker Jon Watts has helmed the upcoming movie after directing ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’ (2017) and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ (2019), which earned more than USD 1.1 billion globally, making it the highest-grossing ‘Spider-Man’ movie of all time. (ANI)
