In the Sharddha Walker murder case, the DNA report on Wednesday confirms bone, and hair samples are of Shraddha Walkar.

Meanwhile, in the forest area of Mehrauli, a mitochondrial DNA report of the samples was found and sent for testing at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting Diagnostic (CDFD) in Hyderabad. That has matched with the victim’s father.

“Mitochondrial DNA report confirms hair and bone sample matching with Shraddha Walker. Delhi Police has received the report from the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics,” Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda said.

“One piece of bone and a bunch of hair purported to be of the deceased have matched with that of her father and brother which establishes the identity of the bone and hair to be that of Shraddha Walker,” Special CP stated.

Moreover, for post-mortem examination, the bones will be now sent, and a medical board at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will conduct the PME.

Aaftab killed her live-in partner Shraddha and in 35 pieces Aaftab chopped her body. Based on his confession he was arrested in November and on 9 December Aaftab was produced before a court via video conferencing and for 14 days his judicial custody was extended.
