Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a GMR Group-led consortium, today organised Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 at the Delhi Airport to commemorate 75th Independence Day.

Mr Ankit Garg, Deputy Director General, BCAS HQ flagged off the Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 in which several participants including RAXA personnel, who are deployed at the airport, participated.

The Run started from the flagstaff near New Udan Bhawan at Delhi Airport. The participants covered a distance of 3.5 km and passed through the General Aviation terminal and Public Transport Centre (PTC), before reaching the finish line at the flag mast.

The event aims to bring awareness about behavioural changes and motivate common people towards a more physically active lifestyle. The FIT India Freedom Run has been conceptualised by Fit India Mission and would continue till October 2, 2021.

Fit India movement was launched on 29th August 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a view to make fitness an integral part of our daily lives. The mission of the Movement is to bring about behavioural changes and move towards a more physically active lifestyle.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL, said “India is celebrating 75th Independence Day. DIAL is proud to be associated with Fit India Freedom Run as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Such initiatives will motivate people to move towards a more physically active lifestyle and stay fit.”
