Residents of Koi Chandra Para in Demdum village took to the streets demanding consistent water and electricity supply in their locality. Over the past 16 days, they have faced severe disruptions to these essential services, prompting protests along the Kamalpur-Kumarghat Highway. A significant number of villagers expressed dissatisfaction with the irregular supply, with some reporting a complete lack of electricity for two weeks. This prolonged inconvenience has led to widespread frustration among residents, impacting their daily lives. In response to the situation, Pradyot Bikram Manikya, a notable regional leader, personally met with the affected people and directed officials to urgently restore water and electricity services. Pradyot Manikya Deb Barma, also known as Bubagra, currently chairs The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Motha and has been actively involved in addressing issues concerning indigenous communities, as evidenced by his previous hunger strike in support of constitutional solutions for Tripura’s indigenous people.
