In a shocking incident, a Canadian named George Bishay recorded unsettling footage from his doorbell camera that showed a DoorDash driver intentionally tampering with a drink meant for his son. This occurrence took place on September 27 in Whitby, Canada.

The video depicted the driver spitting into a Booster Juice beverage before leaving it at Bishay’s doorstep. The drink was specifically for Bishay’s two-year-old son, who was sick and needed hydration.

Bishay expressed his disbelief, stating that he typically spent hundreds of dollars a month on the service and had tipped the driver 18%. Despite this, the driver opened the sealed drink, spat into it, and resealed it before delivering it to Bishay’s home.

Immediately after the incident, Bishay contacted the police and confronted the driver, asking him why he had committed such an act. Upon being confronted, the driver reportedly said, “I am sorry.”

When police arrived, they did not charge the driver for the spitting incident. However, they issued fines for a different violation—two young children were found in the driver’s vehicle without proper child restraints or seatbelts.

In response to the incident, DoorDash promptly deactivated the driver from their platform and offered compensation to Bishay. In a public statement, DoorDash called the driver’s actions “completely unacceptable,” emphasizing their commitment to food safety.

After the video’s circulation online, many speculated that the same driver might also be working for Uber Eats. In response, Uber Eats confirmed that they were aware of the situation and reiterated their dedication to food safety, stressing the importance of using tamper-evident packaging and encouraging customers to report any suspected tampering.
