The Security Unit of Delhi Police convened a conference on Wednesday to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing security measures for the upcoming General Elections, as stated in a press release by the Delhi Police. The conference, chaired by Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, took place at the Conference Hall, Security Headquarters, Bapu Dham, Chanakyapuri, Delhi. Senior officers from both Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) were in attendance at the conference.

Dependra Pathak, Special Commissioner of Police, Protective Security Division, underscored the challenges faced by the Police in ensuring foolproof VIP security during election periods and outlined strategies for professionally managing VIP programs during the election campaign in his opening remarks. Throughout the conference, sessions featured presentations and discussions by officers from both Delhi Police and CAPFs covering various aspects of security arrangements.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, stressed the importance of effective coordination between Delhi Police and CAPFs to ensure a comprehensive security blanket for protected individuals throughout the election process. The Commissioner reiterated the need for security agencies to plan and execute their duties with professionalism and innovation to address evolving security concerns. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of facilitating smooth public interactions with political figures during roadshows and mass contact programs involving high-risk dignitaries, without compromising on safety and security measures.

Senior officers from CAPFs contributed their valuable insights, effective strategies, and best practices aimed at mitigating risks and bolstering preparedness for security coverage. The Half-Day Conference is expected to foster greater camaraderie and coordination among various sister agencies and the Delhi Police. Valuable insights gained from the conference will be implemented in the upcoming days to refine adaptive strategies and strengthen collaborative efforts on the ground.
