Dehli police on Monday busted fake visa racket in Shakarpur and arrested 6 of its members involved in the racket. 225 passports and huge number of counterfeit visa stickers of different countries and other incriminating materials including electronic machines were recovered.
The racket indulged in the procurement and arrangement of fake visa documents of different countries especially European countries, UK, France, Canada, Spain etc.
According to police press statement, for past few months the team of southwestern range of Special Cell was working on the identification of sleeper cells, who were indulged in anti-national activities and having connectivity with different banned Sikh terror outfits i.e. SFJ, KCF etc, who may escape out of India after committing any terror activity.
“In addition to working on different social media platforms, manual sources were also deployed in Delhi-NCR and Punjab. In this process, few days back information was received that an active racket is operating from Delhi who is indulged in the procurement & arrangement of fake Visa on Passports and further facilitation of the same to their contacts as well as several visa aspirants of different countries, who have applied for VISA through their agents. It was also learnt that these fake documents can be used by anti-national elements for escaping after committing anti-National activities in India,” police statement read.
On sustained interrogation, one of the accused Sanjeev Kumar revealed that he used to hunt the gullible visa seekers by assuring them that he can easily get them visa for any country. He used to apply for visa at VFS Global Pvt. Ltd, Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi and would deposit his client’s passport along with the visa application form at this center. He would give his office address in visa application form so that the rejected forms alongwith the client’s passport gets couriered to his office, which they would later use for making fake visa with the help of their associates Anil Paul living in School Block, Shakarpur, Delhi and Dushyant Singh, both of whom were running the fake visa printing office in Laxmi Nagar area of New Delhi.
