Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, on Friday gave his statement to the Narcotics Control Bureau in the Mumbai drugs-on-cruise case.

The Delhi unit of the NCB had taken over the investigation from Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede amidst a huge controversy over allegations of extortion demand against Wankhede by a witness.

Aryan Khan, 23, had recorded his statement at a camp of the Rapid Action Force in Navi Mumbai, sources have said.

The special investigation team of NCB from Delhi took over six cases from Wankhede, of which some are sensitive and said to be linked with the entertainment industry.

Wankhede was at centre of storm after National Congress Party leader Nawab Malik accused Wankhede of extortion. His record and handling of cases was also brought into question after Prabhakar Sail had alleged he overheard a conversation between Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani, Sam D’Souza and his employer KP Gosavi for Rs 18 crore deal, of which 8 crore was for Wankhede.

Gosavi is another NCB witness, after the superstar’s son was arrested, Gosavi’s selfie went viral after Aryan Khan’s arrest which had raised questions.

After spending 22 days in jail Aryan Khan was released on bail. The NCB had not found drugs on him though, but had claimed in court that the WhatsApp chats proved his involvement in illicit drug deals thus consequent links with a foreign drugs cartel.
