Delhi’s peak power demand reached a historic high of 8647 MW at 3:22 PM today, marking a significant milestone in the city’s energy consumption. This peak demand surpasses the previous record of 8000 MW set on May 22, 2024, highlighting the continuous rise in power requirements. Notably, this is the eighth instance since May 22 when Delhi’s peak demand has crossed the 8000 MW mark.

BRPL and BYPL, the city’s power distribution companies, have commendably met this increased demand in their respective areas, showcasing their capability to handle such high loads efficiently. DISCOM officials have affirmed their commitment to ensuring a reliable and robust power supply despite escalating demands, emphasizing the strategic management of resources to meet the city’s energy needs.
