The Delhi High Court in the case Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Trust v. Commissioner Of Income Tax Exception And Ors and the other connected matters observed and has dismissed the bunch of petition moved by Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Wadra, Aam Aadmi Party and other charitable trusts, wherein it challenged the decision of Income Tax authorities in order to transfer their tax assessment to the central circle.
The division bench comprising of Justice Manmohan and Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma in the case observed and has dismissed the plea and has observed that the transfer was in accordance with law.

It has also been clarified by the court in the said case that this court did not examine the matter on merits
Therefore, the court dismissed the petition moved by the Charitable trust are Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Trust, Jawahar Bhawan Trust, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and the Young Indian. Further, the court in the case stated that the parties are free to raise their contentions before the appropriate statutory authority.
Adding to it, it ahs also been stated by the bench that their assessment which is being transferred to the Central Circle was for a coordinated investigation and upheld the orders passed by the IT authorities. The court while considering the facts and circumstances stated and has dismissed the writ petitions along with pending applications with no orders as to cost.

In the said case, the order was challenged by the Gandhis and charitable trusts and the said order was issued by the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax for transferring their cases for the assessment year 2018-2019 to the Central Circle.
