The Delhi High Court on Wednesday gave an extension to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file their replies to the bail plea filed by former Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia.

The bench of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma has fixed the date of May 13 for further hearing into the matter. Thus, giving investigative agencies more time to file their responses.
Earlier, ED’s advocate Zoheb Hossain had asked for time; to file a reply in the matter and has further informed the court, investigation officer is already in the middle of filing another supplementary prosecution complaint in this case.
However, the court has also allowed Sisodia to meet his sick wife once a week under custody at his residence.
But later, the applications regarding weekly visits to wife were later dismissed by the trial court. Thus, halting weekly visits of Sisodia.
Later On, April 30, the Rouse Avenue court later dismissed the bail petitions of Sisodia for the second time in the case and said “This court is not inclined to admit the applicant to bail, either regular or interim, at this stage. The application under consideration is accordingly dismissed.”
Manish Sisodia has been in custody since February 26 2023. Later, he got arrested by ED after CBI.
As per both ED and CBI, many irregularities were committed during the modification of excise policy. Under which undue Favours were given to licensed holders.
Further adding that there was a alleged loss of Rs 144.36 crore to the exchequer.
