The Delhi government will help students develop the qualities of an entrepreneur. On Tuesday, the Delhi Government is set to launch a Business Blasters Programme under the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum. Under which every government school student of class 11th and 12th will be given seed money of Rs 2,000. And, about 3.5 lakh students will be getting this benefit. The Business Blasters programme has been very successful in its pilot phase.

Talking about this, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that there is no dearth of talent among the children studying in government schools of Delhi, and only by showing the way, they can become successful entrepreneurs.

“The only solution to the problem of unemployment in the country today is Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum. Children of Delhi, after completing their studies with an entrepreneurial mindset, will overcome the problem of unemployment by becoming a job provider instead of a job seeker,” Sisodia said about the program.

He told that the Kejriwal government had started Classroom Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum in all government schools of Delhi in 2019. And the motive behind this curriculum was that the students after completing studies from schools and colleges should come out with the mentality that they have to become job providers and not job seekers. And if they go for a job, then they should have such ability that they do not have to stand in the line for a job, but the job should come to them.

After this, under a pilot project, the Business Blasters Program was started at the School of Excellence Khichdipur. Its purpose was to instill confidence in the children that whatever work they do, they should do it with an entrepreneurship mindset. In this, nine groups of 41 children were formed and seed money of Rs 1000 was given to each child and these children made huge profits.

Sisodia said, “People in our country look for solutions to unemployment at the political and administrative level and expects that maximum number of jobs should be made available. But I believe that if everyone comes out as a job seeker then who will become the job provider. EMC will be the solution to this problem of unemployment.”

He also added that this will be a message for the whole country by the children studying in Delhi schools that the only solution to eliminate unemployment and move the economy forward is EMC. Sisodia further emphasised that it needs to be adopted in all schools across the country.

Discussing the features of the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum, the Deputy CM said, “The most important component of EMC is Seed Money Project. The objective of this project is to prepare the children to invest, eliminate the fear of starting a business and earn maximum profit. The most important thing is that even if they do not earn a profit, they will learn to face their failure.”

He also told that due to Corona there were many hurdles in this project but in January a pilot project was started in the School of Excellence Khichdipur, where the children were put into nine groups and were taught to invest in various projects. Today all these projects are earning profit.

Sisodia said, “Through the Business Blasters Project of EMC, we will now provide seed money of Rs 2,000 to the children studying in government schools of Delhi. With this seed money, children will be able to think of some business ideas and work on them. This will help build self-confidence in the children. And, I believe that after learning from EMC, one will not become a job seeker. They will either start some business of their own or they will have so much talent and skills that the job itself will follow them.”

He said that “In the last five to six years, we have made the infrastructure of Delhi’s schools world-class and have sent teachers abroad for training. Although the results of our schools have spectacularly improved, all this is not a real achievement. The real success for us will be when our children grow up with an entrepreneurial mindset”.
