The Delhi government is building new hospitals in Delhi with a capacity of 3,237 beds. On Tuesday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and PWD Minister Manish Sisodia held a meeting with the concerned officials regarding the progress of the construction work of the hospitals.

After the meeting was over, it was informed by the Delhi government that the government is constructing an 11-story hospital with a capacity of 1164 beds in Jwalapuri. About half of the construction work has been completed.

Officials said that the construction work had slowed down a bit due to high pollution in the winter, but the hospital is expected to be completed in the initial months of 2024.

Along with this, the Delhi Government is also constructing a 10-story hospital with a capacity of 691 beds each at Madipur and Hastsal (Vikaspuri). The construction work of both these hospitals is being done at a fast pace and it can be completed by the year 2023.

Apart from this, Indira Gandhi Hospital with a capacity of 1241 beds in Dwarka Sector 9 is also being constructed by the Delhi Government. This hospital will be of 3 hospital blocks consisting of 9 storey ward block, 6 storey OPD, and 6 storey emergency block.

According to the information given by the government, almost 50 percent of the construction work of this hospital has been completed and this hospital will be ready by the end of this year.

Moreover, the Delhi government is also building 7 semi-permanent hospitals with a capacity of 6836 ICU beds for epidemics and serious cases like a corona. In this, a 4-storey hospital with 1430 beds in Shalimar Bagh, 5-storey hospital with 458 beds in Kirari, 4-storey hospital with 527 beds in Sultanpuri, and 5 storey hospital with 1912 beds are being built in GTB Complex.

The 5 storied hospitals with 596 beds at Chacha Nehru Children’s Hospital in Geeta Colony, 5 storied hospitals with 336 beds in Sarita Vihar, and 4 storied hospitals with 1577 beds at Raghuveer Nagar are being constructed by the Delhi Government. Officials have told that all these hospitals will be semi-permanent hospitals, whose construction work has been started in all these places and they will be built soon.
