After Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a high-level meeting to combat Delhi’s serious coronavirus situation, the state unit of the Congress has decided to hold demonstrations at 1,000 places in the city against the Union and the state governments to highlight their failures and also to make people aware about the realities of the Covid-19 situation in the state.

Delhi Congress chief Anil Chaudhary told The Daily Guardian that both the state and the Union governments have finally admitted what the Congress has been saying for many weeks and due to their incompetence, the coronavirus cases have surged in the state. He also added that very few tests were done and people were scared due to lack of beds and incompetence of the govts. Both these governments wasted precious time in tackling the pandemic since lockdown, cases in Delhi have crossed the 40 thousand mark and all these deficiencies and false promises will be made known to the public, he said.

Responding to this, Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta said,” The party has the right to protest but now it is the time to work together and win against the epidemic. Congress needs to put its strength in its performance and it would be better if they put it in the war against the epidemic”. Defending his government, AAP MLA Somnath Bharti said that the Congress had nothing to lose or anything to gain.” The people of Delhi are sensible so the Congress is on zero. The party is not prohibited from performing but Congress leaders are following the path of BJP. The people of Delhi know how much work the Kejriwal government is doing during this pandemic,” he said.
