This week, the Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will visit Himachal Pradesh to participate in Tiranga Yatra which has been organised by the party’s state unit in Palampur. This is the second visit by Kejriwal and Mann to the poll-bound state.

After gaining victory in Punjab, the party is trying to pave its way to Himachal Pradesh. The statement released by the party has stated that AAP’s national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will visit Himachal Pradesh on 12 July to participate in Tiranga Yatra at Palampur. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will also participate in the event.

On 11 June, the Chief Minister of Delhi and Punjab took part in a town hall meeting held in the Hamirpur district to discuss the state of education in Himachal Pradesh. Kejriwal and Mann urged the audience to give the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) a chance in the upcoming assembly elections. The BJP and the AAP are hoping to replicate their strong performance in the Himachal Pradesh polls, which are scheduled for later this year and the Congress, which swept the 2021 state by-polls, is hoping for a turnaround after a string of poll losses. However, hoping for victory just like in Punjab, the AAP members are believing that the party may stand out as a strong alternative to BJP and Congress. The party is promising to focus on health and education in the state if voted to power.
