The Delhi BJP Sikh cell staged a demonstration near the Pakistan High Commission here on Tuesday to protest the sacrilege of Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.
Hundreds of workers from the Sikh cell of the Delhi BJP, led by Delhi BJP Secretary Sardar Impreet Singh Bakshi, protested near the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi against the desecration of Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, in the presence of BJP National Secretary Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Sirsa encouraged the BJP workers gathered in the protest and said, ‘I have written to Union External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, making him aware of the feelings of the Sikh Sangat. I demand that the management of Gurdwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib be immediately handed back to the Sikhs and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee so that such disrespect cannot happen in the future.
Delhi BJP Secretary Sardar Impreet Singh, while addressing the press, stated that Gurudwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib is a supreme religious place for the Sikh community worldwide. The news of the desecration of that religious place by some anti-social elements in Pakistan has shocked people not only in India but all over the world.
Bakshi said, ‘We demand that the Pakistani government give strict punishment to the anti-social elements who desecrated the Gurudwara Sahib and increase the security of the Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.
Sikh cell in-charge Sardar Gurmeet Singh Sura, coordinator Sardar Kulwinder Singh Banti, Sardar K.S. Duggal, councillor Sardar Arjun Pal Singh Marwah, Sardarni Kuljit Kaur, Sardarni Paramjit Kaur, and other Sikh leaders were present in the demonstration.
