A 16-year-old girl died from her injuries after her alleged boyfriend stabbed her multiple times in New Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area, police said on Monday, adding that the accused is on the run.
According to police, the deceased’s body was discovered in a street. According to the police, the accused, identified as 20-year-old Sahil, and the deceased, a minor, were in a relationship but had a fight yesterday (May 28).
During the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that she was walking down the street when she was suddenly confronted by a boy.
According to police, the accused stabbed her multiple times and hit her with a stone, killing her.
“It was discovered that she was walking in the street when suddenly one boy intercepted her,” said Ravi Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North). He stabbed her several times.”
On May 28, police said they received information about a girl’s murder and dispatched a local team to the scene to begin an investigation. During the local investigation, police discovered that the accused and the deceased were in a relationship but had a falling out the day before. “Today, the deceased was planning to attend her friend’s son’s birthday party,” police added.
“The accused is absconding and the search is underway to nab him,” the official said.
According to police, a case has been registered at the Shahbad Dairy police station under Indian Penal Code section (IPC) 302 (Whoever commits murder shall be punished with death).
Meanwhile, Suman Nalwa, Prosecutor of Delhi Police, stated, “A murder case was reported yesterday in the Shahbad Dairy police station limits.” A team has been assembled, and an investigation has begun. The defendant has been identified. We’ll have him arrested soon.”
