Deepika Padukone finally shared her reaction to Alia Bhatt’s Met Gala debut. For those unaware, the Cocktail actress was recently accused of being ‘insecure’ by a section of social media users. The accusations were made after she shared a couple of pictures from her Oscars 2023 presentation just hours before Alia Bhatt made her Met Gala debut.
Now, Deepika was seen dropping a comment on Alia’s post featuring the behind-the-scenes moments. On Friday, Vogue shared a video featuring all that went through in the making of Alia’s Met Gala debut. The Cocktail actress took to the comments section and celebrated Alia’s debut. She wrote, “You did it!”

Deepika’s comment reached Reddit and several users felt it was merely damaged control. One of the users wrote, “This is how strong PR works..DAMAGE CONTROL.” Another wrote, “I feel like this purely damage control because of the backlash she got from her badly timed oscars post.” A third user wrote, “Should have been little subtle…Pr team could have done better.”
Deepika made her Met Gala debut in 2017, wearing a satin gown by Tommy Hilfiger. She returned to the gala in 2019, wearing a princess gown by Zac Posen. On the other hand, for her debut, Alia wore a voluminuous gown embroidered with one lakh pearls designed by Prabal Gurung.
