To expedite district revenue-related tasks, 14 new revenue Patwaris joined today, increasing the total to 111. While formally welcoming the newcomers and urging diligence, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain disclosed these details during their induction into the district’s revenue services.

The district has a sanctioned strength of 136 Revenue Patwaris in the field and 5 at the District Head Quarter. The recent addition of 14 Patwaris brings the operational count to 111, deemed adequate for the district’s revenue department services. Previously, the district had 85 regular and 12 re-employed (contractual) revenue Patwaris.

Deputy Commissioner Jain entrusted each new Patwari with the responsibility of overseeing two revenue patwar circles. She expressed optimism that the induction of these newcomers would not only benefit the common people but also fortify the district’s revenue offices by addressing pending tasks.

Highlighting the significance of revenue records in sub-registrar and tehsil offices, Deputy Commissioner Jain anticipated that the new Patwaris would alleviate the struggles of the public by ensuring timely completion of their tasks.
Emphasising dedication and honesty, she warned of consequences for negligence or mistreatment of the public, given the Patwaris’ reporting role in citizen-centric services. To expedite service delivery, she urged the new Patwaris to work with precision.

District Revenue Officer Amandeep Chawla was also present at the meeting to witness and support the induction of the new Patwaris.
