All India Tennis Association (AITA) has for the first time created ‘Davis Cup Fan Lounge’ for World Group 1 play offs tie Davis Cup match against Denmark scheduled to be held on 4th & 5th March,2022. This lounge will be inaugurated on Thursday at national capital New Delhi. The Davis Cup matches will be played at grass court of iconic Delhi Gymkhana Club.
Speaking on the development, AITA President Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman, Organising Committee Mr. Anil Jain said, “For the last hundred years this tournament has been played between the countries and India has reached Davis Cup final also. This time we are playing against Denmark and we hope we will win this time.”
Sharing the vision of marking a new beginning through Davis Cup event, he further added that this is an iconic event and people would know Tennis before 2022 and after 2022.
The dedicated lounge is being created for shooting videos with players and officials and promos for Davis Cup event. This would also include fan engagement activities. Organisers believe this will create media buzz around the country as for the first time a “Davis Cup Lounge” will be created ahead of a tournament in India.
The guest list for the event includes Mr. Om Pathak Co-chairman of Davis Cup organizing committee and Administrator Delhi Gymkhana Club; Rohit Rajpal Indian Davis Cup team captain and Aditya Khanna Tournament Director for Davis Cup, India leg.
