Due to Tropical Cyclone Mandous which is currently active in the Bay of Bengal region, KVB Puram Mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district recorded the highest rainfall at 258mm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, due to heavy water flow from nearby ponds and lakes KVB Puram Mandal, under the Satyavedu constituency, towards the Srikalahasti is completely blocked.

Talking about difficulties faced due to water Dwarkanath Reddy Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) said, “We are monitoring the situation in the Mandal, and we are taking action together with the officials of all the relevant departments…”

“In many areas, traffic was interrupted by waterlogging. We have placed traffic diversions,” Reddy stated.

Earlier on Friday, the devotees who visited Tirupati Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala faced several problems.

Several parts of Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, and Tamil Nadu witnessed heavy rain and strong winds.

Meanwhile, due to water logging traffic movement on the Venkatagiri-Gudur state highway number 58 was also interrupted on Saturday.

Amid cyclonic storms, Mandous heavy rainfall and strong winds were witnessed by Chennai and several other parts of Tamil Nadu.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) cyclonic storm, Mandous is weakening in strength after completing its landfall process late on Friday night.

In the nearby Chengalpattu district, waterlogging and squally winds uprooting trees were seen.

Earlier on Friday Cyclonic Mandous made landfall off Mamallapuram influencing moderate to heavy rainfall in coastal Tamil Nadu where MMDA Colony in Chennai’s Arumbakkam was seen waterlogged.
