Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) is set to introduce an AC bus service for city residents to visit Ayodhya Dham on Basant Panchami. The service will operate from ISBT-17, Chandigarh, departing daily at 4:30 pm and arriving at Ayodhya Dham, Uttar Pradesh, at 8:30 am the following day. The return journey from Ayodhya Dham to Chandigarh will commence on the same day at 4:30 pm, reaching Chandigarh at 11:05 am the next day. The travel distance from Chandigarh to Ayodhya Dham is 947 kilometers, and the fare for passengers is Rs 1706. The journey is expected to take 19 hours.
In response to the religious faith of devotees, Pradhumman Singh, Director of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU), announced that a bus will depart daily from Chandigarh to Ayodhya Dham. Currently, CTU serves religious places like Salasar, Khatu Shyam, Vrindavan, Haridwar, Katra, Jwala Ji, and Chamunda Devi. The bus services extend to neighboring states, including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Following the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, CTU has planned to initiate this bus service to Ayodhya Dham, considering the religious sentiments of millions of Lord Ram devotees
