In a disturbing incident, a teenage boy filmed himself throwing several live puppies into a furnace in Brazil. The horrifying act of animal cruelty, which took place in Vidal Ramos, Santa Catarina, involved the unidentified 14-year-old boy creating a video where he can be seen approaching a flaming furnace, removing puppies from his bag, and tossing them into the fire one by one. The boy was heard counting at least seven puppies amid their agonizing cries. According to the ‘Daily Mail’, the teenager shared the video with friends via WhatsApp.

Police InvestigationĀ

The footage, which surfaced on October 17, caught the attention of the Santa Catarina Police, who immediately dispatched a unit to the boy’s home. “The father was working at the time the police arrived at the scene,” said Captain Armo Senem, speaking to *CNN Brasil*. He added that since the incident had occurred earlier, no physical evidence remained, but a report was filed with the Civil Police.

Captain Senem mentioned that it remains unclear whether the teenager acted alone or was influenced by someone else. Being a minor, the boy cannot face arrest or formal charges. However, given that he is between 12 and 18 years old, he may be subjected to socio-educational measures under the Child and Adolescent Statute, holding him accountable for his actions.
