Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has recently expressed willingness to provide a $10 gift card as an apology for causing inconvenience.

This development comes around the time, when CrowdStrike is considered responsible for the crash of 8.5 million computers worldwide.

Furthermore, some of the people have also gotten an email from the company. It was providing them a gift card for extra work ‘that July 19 has caused’.

As per screenshot shared by TechCrunch, the email reportedly offered voucher of Uber Eats, which was added as a goodwill gesture.

But notably, some receiver encountered some issues, while activating the voucher. As per the report, while redeeming the reward, they got an error message saying that their gift card has been terminated by issuing party and it isn’t valid now.

Meanwhile, due to the incorrect update caused on July 19, Friday, dozens of windows computers were impacted, becoming inoperable. As a result, it generated significant consequences like interruption in operations of several sectors like airports and IT.

But health sector too wasn’t spared of this microsoft outage, as various hospitals & clinics witnessed delay in surgeries, delay in patient care and acquiring important medical records.

Later following the crash, crowdstrike displayed a preliminary report, saying that this outage happened due to incorrect update of Falcon sensor. In addition, the company also revealed that content configuration was been added to enhance threat detection. But due to error present in the update, the windows system crashed.
