The team of Crime Branch Sector 19 apprehended a drug smuggler identified as Hemant Kumar, a resident of Tipra village in Kalka district, Panchkula. The police seized 6.50 grams of heroin from the accused.
A case under the NDPS Act was filed at the Kalka police station, leading to a 2-day police remand for the arrested individual. Inspector Mohinder Singh Dhanda of Crime Branch Sector 19 provided details, stating that the arrest was a result of the team’s efforts in capturing a perpetrator involved in illegal narcotics trade.
The interrogation aimed to gather information on other individuals participating in drug smuggling, with the intention to dismantle the entire drug network in the near future.
